My Secret’s Out!

My computer is FIXED finally {knock on al;skdfjaskldj…oops, note to self: don’t “knock on keyboard” – there’s a reason the saying is “knock on wood”}  Much better.  Which means…I CAN REVEAL MY EXCITING NEWS!!!

Any guesses?  Anyone?  Can ANYONE guess what my news is?  Bueller?  Bueller?

If you guessed “Jen got sassy new black boots,” you’re totally right!  Well, that…AND…I was just offered my dream job in Denver, Colorado!

Blissful sigh.  🙂

You want stats?  Alright, I’m 5′ 10″ with brown eyes {with gold and green flecks, alright so they’re hazel} and…oh wait.  You want JOB STATS!  Got it!

Last week I bumped into the HR manager in the ladies restroom, of alllll places.  Only I would get promoted with a toilet flushing in the background.  {eyeroll}  So she asks me to stop by her office that afternoon, as she had something to discuss with me.

Sitting in the chair outside her office felt a bit like a visit to the principal’s office in grade school.  There I sat, thumbs twirling, nervously waiting for my name to be called.  “Jennifer? Come on in.”  Gulp.

“I would like to be the first to congratulate you on your promotion to the Southwest Mountains Skin Spa Specialist!”  It was like I had won the Miss America pageant…only without all the swimsuits and fake eyelashes.

In 9 days I begin 7 weeks of training…two weeks in downtown Minneapolis and then 5 weeks in Los Angeles.  I realize that spending the first month of winter in California will be a big sacrifice, but somebody’s got to do it {wink}.  After training, I will be traveling between Colorado, Arizona, San Diego and New Mexico, and Nevada developing skin care sales for the company.

I’m THRILLED to be able to write much of my own schedule, dive back into the training and esthetics field, lead and mentor young women in the field and live in the mountains once again!  Adventures with Jen is relocating people – and I’m so excited, scared, nervous, and looking forward to what the Lord has in store for this new Adventure!

More updates to come…

P.S. a big-fat-THANKS to Michelle H. for being my faithful blog-ographer…kind of like a photographer, but for my blog.  Get it?  Blog-ographer?  Yeahhhhh…

Congrats!! I wish you the very BEST!!! Please tho, keep writing on your blog. Otherwise, I shall be very sad to not hear about your adventures!!!! God’s Blessing to you, dear lady!!!

  • Oh my gosh! How exciting! I am so excited for you – that’s wonderful! Keep us POSTED (hehehe)!

My only sad sad story is that we won’t get to meet in person now! 🙁 At least for a while! Is this the end of your chicks writing career, too?

  • Yea! What fun and exciting news! I love your stories. Thanks for sharing–God’s blessings to you!

  • Oh. My. Goodness. That is so exciting!!! As much as I know you wanted to move to Kansas like I said in my previous comment…I appreciate the sacrifice you are making moving to sunny CA for a month (did you know my ILs are out there?) and then the glamourous (just realized I don’t know how to spell that) traveling life! God is so good! I can’t wait to hear all about your adventures! I always thought that if we made it back to MN ever (long-term), I’d love to go to the Aveda Institute to learn to be an esthetician…I love that stuff! I mean, I love getting facials, so I feel like I’d enjoy the field and helping others’ lives to be heavenly as well, right? Ok, I digress…I’m in Kansas.

Anyhow, God is going to bless your socks off in your new job, I just know it! Looking forward to reading all about it 🙂

  • Hi Jenni, I am so happy for you. Would it be possible for us to have a get-together with cousins and whoever would like to come before you leave? If we set a date now everyone would have time to make plans to be here at my home. I would love that. How exciting for you!!! Love, Nan

  • Hiya! I am so excited for you! I knew I had to come check your blog b/c your potential future landlord Facebooked me about you. Yes, Beki and I were roommates for two years, so up in eachother’s business! I hope it works out for you to rent their place; they are great people. And I have three other recomendations for you. (1)Say hi to all my extended family in the denver area… there are a lot of them. (2) check out either of these churches http://www.sovereigngraceministries.org/churches/united-states/colorado.aspx (we know the pastors at both), they are really amazing: (3) or check out Beki’s church. I hear great things from her about it. Looking forward to more updates from Denver. Maybe we’ll have to have a little get together with Anna Larson next time I’m out there too!
